This data annotation project involves a number of AI initiatives in the field of military technology, aka MilTech. Since 2022, the Label Your Data team has partnered with other Ukrainian AI companies, young startups, and volunteers with the shared goal of helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine to leverage AI for strategic advancements. The first project is a large-scale initiative built on NATO standards.
The Client required high-quality, secure annotations to train an AI algorithm aimed at improving the situational awareness of the drone used for military purposes. The goal of this project was to develop an AI-powered tech that will assist soldiers on the battlefield. To help our Client build robust AI models for the military technology, Label Your Data had to tackle drone data annotation for aerial reconnaissance.
Our team was tasked with annotating photo and video data received from drones (UAVs) to explore camouflaged military equipment and personnel. For this, we had to use various Computer Vision techniques. Besides, working with real-time drone footage from various locations presented a real technological challenge due to diverse weather conditions and topography.
The MilTech case was one of the most resource-intensive and large-scale projects for the Label Your Data team. To address the key challenges of the Client’s algorithm development for enhanced military drone awareness, we’ve done the following:
